The Bhawan area is around a kilometer area in the valley. It is a busy place most parts of the year with tourists from all across India, specially North India, visiting this place regularly. Maa Jwalaji is place for many to get their children's mundan too. Once up at the Bhawan area, you will find lots of hotels and Dharamsalas for a comfortable stay. Dhabas and small hotels serving mostly north Indian food. The temple experiences a huge amount of rush in the festive seasons of Navratras, though otherwise you can get awesome Darshan and also get special prayer done for a minute or two.
Just like many other temples, you have a big market for prasad starting from the main road to all the way up the stairs to the Main Temple. The path is relatively straight in comparison to other temples on hill tops. There is a small parking area, less than half a kilometer away of walking distance to the main temple compound. This place also serves as the main bus stop for Mata Jwala Devi and it is just 500 mtrs walking distance to the main temple compound. From this place you have the main gate which is set up by the 12th Batalion Dogra Regiment of Indian Army. Along with this gate there are 2 more gates made by the Indian Army to go to Maa Jwala ji temple. However the pilgrims choose the main gate as a symbolic route for their pilgrimage/ yatra. It is a walking path from here on. Near this gate are various guest houses, hotels, Sarai and Dharamsalas for the convenience of the common. After crossing the main gate on the walking path are shops on both sides. The shops are mainly for prasad, music, books, dhabas etc. The atmosphere is calm and pious. The pilgrims walk saying Jwala Mata's Jaikaras.
There are Prasad Shops, Hotels, Dharamsalas etc on both sides of the walking path and it is a pleasure to walk through such an electrifying atmosphere most parts of the year. The presence of Maa Bhagwati can actually be felt to those who believe in Her or is chosen by Her. Carry Halwa, flowers, Nariyal, Chunri/ Dupatta, Shringar, Pede and related from the shops as per your choice, though the biggest is your Haziri(attendance).
