Dharamshala-Goshala-Dispensary Devi Talab Temple | Jalandhar, Punjab
Shri Devi Talab Mandir has a vast compound/ land and lots of money from the Daani devotees. There is a Dharamshala built on the left(south) and right side of the temple in the complex at the ends of the boundary. Above is the picture of the Dharamsala on the right side which is called the Sachin Dwar.
Dharamshala no.1 at Sachin Dwar.
Walking area and open space for walking and to relax or meditate.
The Dharamshala is right next to the lake with a wide walking space and garden in between. The temple is well planned.
The other wing of rooms is on the left side of the temple at the backside of the Shaktipeeth Temple continuing all the way till Maa Kaali Temple. In the picture below you can spot the rooms at the back of the temple.
There are average rooms to more equipped rooms with modern amenities like coolers, geysers etc.. The committee also provides good staying facilities for the various bands/ Jagran mandalis that come for performance to the temple from time to time. The Dharamshala has adequate rooms for people at non festival times. On those times, there is huge rush even for people to stand in open space.
Goshala- The Cow Shelter
Cow has a great religious importance in the Hindu Religion and is worshipped as Gau Mata and to serve the Cow and protect it and give shelter to it is considered a great pious deed. However strangely not many temples of India take the responsibility of the same or do anything concreate for them. Thankfully that is not the case of this temple. There is a separate Goshala created on the left side of the temple, outside of it with a huge space and proper shelter given to them. There are approximately 500-1000 cows that can be spotted in it which the temple takes care of. However the pilgrims and devotees and the locals also do not stay behind in giving their cooperation and doing seva(serve) the Pious Cow.
If you happen to be there. Do visit the goshala which is just next to the temple. There are lots of Cow food shops available outside the Goshala from where you can buy and donate to the cows as per your capability/ will.
